In pages 167-174 of Adam Hochschild's novel Bury the Chains, Equiano wrote his autobiography which was about anti-slavery that helped the campaign toward ending the slave trade. It mostly talked about his experiences during the slave trade. Equiano later became very occupied with selling his book.

In pages 192-198 of Adam Hochschild's novel Bury the Chains, it was about the sugar boycott and it's mass expansion. It's popularity grew, even all over England. It goes on writing about Clarkson's writing, Abstract. This piece of writing was influential toward its readers because it showed reality to society. He wrote about the conditions, hardships, and all experiences the slaves went during the slave trade.
